Thanks to your support, SB 1070 has passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee and is now in the Senate Rules Committee. This is a step forward but we have a lot to do to ensure SB 1070 becomes law. We need your help to continue to build momentum and educate lawmakers about the need to support all survivors.
Survivors’ Advocacy Day
Tuesday, April 25
Oregon State Capitol, 900 Court St NE, Salem, Oregon
Online training on Zoom for participants on April 24, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Survivors of domestic violence have a powerful voice in the conversation about how our state can do more to support them.
Legislators have been deeply moved by hearing from survivors about their experiences. These include survivors who have been criminalized and punished. They also include survivors who have not been involved in the criminal justice system but recognize that they could have ended up there had circumstances been different for them
We invite all survivors of domestic violence to join us for a Survivors' Advocacy Day in support of Senate Bill 1070.
If you identify as a survivor or as a friend or family member of a survivor or victim of domestic violence - whether you have been justice-involved or not - we ask you to join us. Groups of survivors, along with our staff, will meet with legislators in Salem to advocate for the passage of SB 1070.
Don't worry if you have never taken part in an advocacy day before. We will provide training and support throughout the process.
If you're interested in participating or learning more, submit your details and we will be in touch.
